Indicative Anchoring Position

35° 33.9’S   137° 36.3’E

Note.    Indicative anchoring positions are for reference only and should not be used as waypoints.  The best position for anchoring depends on many factors including vessel draft, tide, and forecast wind.

This is a very pretty bay on a sweeping sandy beach. There is good holding in large sandy patches at the eastern end, although the western end is more difficult due to large amounts of tapeweed. The absence of any settlement (apart from distant farm buildings) and the lack of vehicles on the beach can make it a more attractive option than Emu Bay.

The bay provides no protection in W or NW conditions, and it is then necessary to move to Marsden Point.
