Indicative Anchoring Position

35° 35.1’S   137° 31.2’E

Note.   Indicative anchoring positions are for reference only and should not be used as waypoints. The best position for anchoring depends on many factors including vessel draft, tide, and forecast wind.

This is a large bay about 2½ miles long. There is a jetty and boat launching ramp in the south western corner near the small township and caravan park. Holding is good in sand along most of the beach, although it becomes more difficult in weed near the western end. If the wind backs more to the east, refracted waves tend to curl along the coast line and conditions may be more comfortable at Boxing Bay.

Vehicles are permitted on the beach, and can be present in large numbers at peak holiday times.
