Indicative Anchoring Positions

34° 53.6’S   137°15.3 ’E

Note.    Indicative anchoring positions are for reference only and should not be used as waypoints.  The best position for anchoring depends on many factors including vessel draft, tide, and forecast wind.

Galway Bay is located immediately to the east of Levens Beach. It is much smaller and less attractive, with good holding in weed on a sandy bottom.

The beach access is possible but has more tidal flat to negotiate. There is a small holiday settlement, and the Conservation Park does not extend this far east, so for dog owners who need to take the pooch ashore, this is the anchorage of choice.
