Note. Indicative anchoring positions are for reference only and should not be used as waypoints. The best position for anchoring depends on many factors including vessel draft, tide, and forecast wind.
Kangaroo Beach is a deep and open bay providing a good anchorage with good holding in sand. It is only about 1 mile west of Snug Cove, but may be a better alternative because it is larger and access is better.
It is subject to westerly swell, but is very secure in typical SE conditions. A dinghy landing is possible as long as the shore break is not large.
