Indicative Anchoring Position

35° 45.6’S   137° 47.9’E

Note.    Indicative anchoring positions are for reference only and should not be used as waypoints.  The best position for anchoring depends on many factors including vessel draft, tide, and forecast wind.

Ballast Head is a useful anchorage in westerly conditions. The holding is only fair on a weedy bottom, and vessels should lie as close as possible to the shore.
